Reston@50: Introduction

Reston @ 50 looks at the history of Reston, Virginia through archival materials held in the Special Collections Research Center (SCRC) of George Mason University Libraries.  SC&A maintains over thirty archival collections which pertain to Reston and other planned communities. The matierials comprise a variety formats including media, such as oral histories and original video and sound recordings, documents, photographs, maps, promotional materials, and posters, to name a few.  They describe Reston's earliest moments up to, and including the initial planning of the Washington Metropololitan Transportation Administration's Silver Line to Washington Dulles Airport.
