An account of the resource
In 1968 the Reston Community Association (RCA) was created in response to the formation of Gulf Reston, Inc., and subsequent removal of Robert E. Simon, Jr., from Reston’s management. . Concerned citizens felt the need to take responsibility for community programs and the direction in which Reston was heading. In 1987 the RCA was incorporated into the Reston Homeowners Association and both renamed the Reston Association. The Reston Association records include meeting minutes, budgets, clippings, reports, handbooks, correspondence, and general information about the association, as well as a photographic series with prints, contact sheets, slides, and negatives. Collection comprises 27 linear ft.; 54 boxes. Covers the years 1964 to 2006.
